Mariana Ferrer is a Brazilian woman who reported a rape by a rich man in Brazil. The judge declared a “Guilty Rape”, that is, he raped her, but had no “intention” to rape. The video went viral on social media since the defence lawyer treated her like a criminal, humiliating and torturing her in court.
As women, we are responsible for contraception during sex. If contraception does not work, we are responsible for staying with the child, or having an abortion. Whatever decision we make, the man is not morally responsible for it by society. If we decide to abort, we are judged, if we decide to keep it, and to be a single mother, we are judged too. If we say yes, we are sluts. If we say no, we are prudish. When we say yes, a society makes us responsible for everything that comes next. Now, in Brazil, we are also responsible for saying NO and men not respecting that no.
Responsibility remains ours. For dressing up with something revealing, for taking pictures, for accepting to drink something, for existing. If we don’t go public immediately with a violation, we are doubted, and if we come too.
After all, when, or what, is men’s responsibility?
Society continues to treat women like Eve, who ate the apple, and so she is the creator of all that is evil and sinful, and men treated as innocent spectators. He was “MADE” to do that.
90% of perpetrators of rape are men, but this is violence against women. Even the crime name has our gender, not who does it (statistically speaking, women can do it, but less).
Mariana was raped, humiliated and tortured in court so that a rapist could escape because he has money. Mariana was treated worse than the criminal. Mariana could be drunk, wearing a revealing dress, flirting or not doing any of this. The violation was committed by him and it was his conscious decision. However, it is Mariana who is guilty of the criminal acts he committed. Something that society doesn’t seem to understand is that if it weren’t Mariana, it would have been another woman.
When women are told to be careful, to cover up, to be a virgin, to be innocent, we just say: “Don’t be the one to be raped. Leave it for another woman”. We rarely heard say “Don’t rape” to men. And so the responsibility for not being raped is also ours.
So, we either blame men who rape women, or we are saying that the mental capacity of some men is so low and zero, that they have no sense of control, and have no cognitive ability to resist anything. In that case, get them all out of politics please, and we run the country.
The most frightening thing about all this is that it sets a precedent for all Brazilian women to be raped, and to be blamed for it.
“Guilty rape” does not exist. I fight for Mariana. And I fight for all the women who have been, and will be in Mariana’s place.
(and no, not all men, but if 90% of rapists are men, we have to start to understand that this is not something for women to solve on their own)

Mariana Ferrer é uma mulher brasileira que denunciou uma violação por um homem rico no Brasil. O juiz declarou “Estrupo Culposo“, ou seja, violação ou estrupo, sem culpa. O video ficou viral nas redes sociais por o advogado do criminoso, a tratar a ela como criminosa, humilhando e torturando-a em tribunal.
Como mulheres, somos responsáveis pela contraceção durante o sexo. Se a contraceção não funcionar, somos responsáveis por ficar com a criança, ou abortar. Qualquer decisão que tomemos, o homem não é moralmente responsável por ela. Se decidirmos abortar, somos julgadas, se decidirmos manter, e ser mãe solteira, somos julgadas também. Se dissermos que sim, somos vagabundas. Se dissermos que não, somos pudicas. Quando dizemos que sim, a sociedade nos responsabiliza de tudo que vier a seguir. Agora, no Brasil, também nos responsabilizam por dizer NÃO e o não respeitarem esse não.
E a responsabilidade continua a ser nossa. Por nos vestirmos com algo revelador, por tirar fotos, por aceitar beber algo, por existir. Se não viermos a publico imediatamente com a violação duvidam de nós, e se viermos também.
Afinal, quando, ou o que, é da responsabilidade do homem?
A sociedade continua a tratar a mulher como Eva, que comeu a maçã, e por isso é a criadora de tudo o que é mau e pecador, e os homens tratados como espectadores inocentes. Foi LEVADO a fazer isso. Coitado. A Jezebel obrigou o pobre e inocente não teve outra opção senão a violar. (ironia)
90% dos perpetuadores de estrupo ou violação são homens, mas isto é violência contra a mulher. Até o crime tem o nosso género, não de quem o faz (estatisticamente falando, mulheres podem fazer sim, mas menos).
Mariana foi violada, humilhada e torturada em tribunal para que um estrupador/violador escapasse por ter dinheiro. Mariana foi tratada pior do que o criminoso. Mariana podia estar alcoolizada, com vestido revelador, a flirtar ou não fazer nada disto. A violação foi cometida por ele e foi uma decisão consciente dele. No entanto, é Mariana que é culpada pelos actos criminosos que ele cometeu. Algo que parece que a sociedade não compreende é que se não fosse a Mariana, teria sido outra mulher.
Quando dizem para a mulher ter cuidado, se tapar, ser virgem, ser inocente, apenas dizemos: “Não seja você a ser violada. Deixe para outra”. Nunca ouvimos a dizer aos homens “Não viole/estrupe”. E portanto a responsabilidade de não sermos violadas é também nossa.
Das duas uma, ou culpabilizamos os homens que violam mulheres, ou estamos a dizer que a capacidade mental de alguns homens é tão baixa e tão nada, que não têm qualquer sentido de controlo, e não tem capacidade cognitiva para resistir a nada. Nesse caso, tirem todos eles da política por favor, e nós gerimos o país.
O mais assustador disto tudo é que abre um precedente para todas as mulheres brasileiras serem violadas, e culpadas por isso.
Estupro culposo não existe. Eu luto por Mariana. E luto por todas as mulheres que já estiveram, e irão estar no lugar de Mariana.
(e não, nem todos os homens, mas se 90% dos violadores são homens, temos que começar a compreender que isto não é algo para a mulher resolver sozinha)
